Will you provide my business with a Certificate of Destruction?
Before you hire a document shredding company, ask if they provide a Certificate of Destruction. This is a formal document that contains detailed information about the destruction of your materials to prove that the shredding process was completed and to prove compliance with privacy laws. Gilmore provides a Certificate of Destruction upon completion of every shredding service for all paper and media types.
 
Do I have to remove staples, paper clips, etc.?
Not at all. All you need to do is put the documents into the locked containers we provide and that's it. You don't have to worry about removing anything else, not even paper clips, staples or binder clips. Our shredders can handle that; however, we do remove 3 ring binders and hanging file folders, but that can be done as we load material into the shredder.
 
What happens to the shredded documents?
The shredded documents are safely and environmentally-safely removed and disposed of through recycling. This reduces our waste and environmental impact.
